In the old testament, god wipes out bad people and saved only noah s family. He tells noah to build an ark (noah & the ark story). Noah sends out doves until one returns with an olive branch (a sign of dry land). Ararat (modern-day turkey) and noah and his family reproductively recreate the human race. Most primitive cultures built communities were built in river valleys, close to a constant supply of water. He saw humans as disgusting, vulgar, and terrible. Zeus returned to olympus to express his intention to destroy humanity. The gods were disturbed, and insisted that he couldn"t destroy humanity because there would be no one left to worship them. Zeus agreed, and went back to earth to find someone worthy of living. They were both pious and just, so zeus gave them a boat and returned to olympus to send the rains which flooded the earth.
