Document Summary

You use up water and make water in this process. Converts two low energy molecules into a high energy molecule (glucose) Energy from light makes high energy atp and nadph. Calvin cycle/dark reactions (uses chemical energy to convert co2->glucose. New h2o form from oxygen in co2 and hydrogen in the reactant h2o. All oxygen that is released comes from the reactant 12h2o. Energy from light makes high energy atp+nadph which is used to convert co2 into sugar. Stroma - liquid in chloroplast, but outside the thylakoid. This process is very slow b/c the enzyme used to. Calvin cycle doesn"t make a glucose it basically makes half a glucose (g3p) 1-c molecule joins 5-c molecule to make a 6-c molecule. Add energy to 3-c molecules by 6atp->adp by reduction. 3atp-->3adp gives energy to convert 5 3-carbon molecules into 3 5-carbon molecules to restart the reaction. (rubp) The calvin cycle obtains its energy from cyclic & non-cyclic photophosphorylation.
