Because anthropology takes in all aspects of human diversity, from cultural, to biological, to psychological, to religious, it stands apart from other social sciences such as psychology or sociology or religious studies. Anthropology takes a holistic approach to the understanding of man and the plethora of factors that play in the foundational grounds for what makes a human, human. Since anthropology studies all parts of human existence, it follows logically that the four main fields of anthropology should consist of sociocultural, biological, archeological, and linguistic anthropologies, with many subfields within each of them. Please provide at least one example to help illustrate each characteristic: culture consists of a set of learned ideas and behaviors that humans acquire as members of a particular society.
