Habitats: old world primates from africa and asia (none in europe naturally). Descriptive-watch them and describe looks, habits, and types. Observational-observing primates close up for long periods of time. Jane goodall-studies chimps to this day; started organizations such as gambi institute; goodall became adapted to the chimps and was accepted by them in ways such as grooming and interacting. Theoretical approach- comparative studies between primates and humans; has turned this way since. Categories become increasingly specific; groups have more in common the lower down you go. A field that deals with classifying animals based on evolutionary relationships. Traditionally based on physical characteristics but now is based a lot on genetics and dna. Monkeys and new world monkeys which is the infraorder.
