An example of this comes from my personal life as a vegetarian i try not to buy products that are tested on animals unnecessarily and as such avoid many name brands such as pantene etc. If i hadn"t known that many of these products were under two major companies unilever and procter and gamble then i would have gone against my morals and given money to a company that i didn"t support. Understanding both of these concepts also helps us as consumers to better comprehend how companies view our spending as positive feedback for however their company is run.
