The bison were walmart of hooves, they would eat the meat, sell the hide, and use the skeletons as fertilizer. Not only that but the bison also allowed the natives americans to have an income for the tribe because of the american fur company. They would pay the indians to kill the bison"s and sell them the hide so that way they can make belts for machines and that way they could turn the pelts into fashionable fur coats. All so this was taking place in the late 1870s. The battle of little bighorn- happened on june 25th, 1876. It was when america had endured the biggest loss from fighting the native americans period this battle led up to the ghost dance.
