Document Summary

Model of communication diagram that illustrates communication between a sender and receiver. This model shows how the most important factors function in what would be a snapshot of a static instance of communication. Actional model is the most basic model of communication. It involves only a sender encoding a message to an unknown receiver. Those who follow this model we can presume do not believe that listening is an active role in participating in communication. They do not believe that listening skills need not be developed. Here it is shown that receivers are doing more then passively waiting to decode and that when there is miscommunication, it is much more then just a channel breakdown. The interactional model shows a sender and receiver encoding and decoding as usual but also shows feedback coming from the receiver which the sender will decode accordingly. Now what is also in place is noise which both sender and receiver must deal with.
