There are a few distinct characteristics to keep in mind when evaluating if a conversation is impersonal interpersonal. or. In order to better explain this concept, we will have an example of one impersonal communication and interpersonal communication. In this case, the impersonal communication will be with a young woman shopping at a retail store and the sales associate. For the interpersonal communication, we"ll take the example of a couple who has been together for many, many years. The customer acts like a customer and the sales associate acts like a sales associate: they are each playing their designated role. However, the couple treats one another as unique individuals and act on the basis of personal information.
