Mycellium main body of the fungus located underground made up of hyphe. Hyphe tubular cells with a cell wall composed of chitin. Chitin is pronounced: sky(without the s)-tin (like the metal) Fungus can be devided into two major categories based on the type of hyphe. Membrane with a hole in it. (doughnut shaped) Hole is small enough to prevent the nuclei of each cell from moving outside the cell, but allows the rest of the organelles and cytoplasm to flow freely between the cells. The septa itself is the dough part of the doughnut that prevents the nuclei from passing.
