Diversity has countless definitions though the one used" in this book is - Counting diversity-empirically numerating differences within a given population. Culture diversity-the existence of a variety of cultural or ethnic groups within a society. Good-for-business diversity-the idea that businesses will be more profitable with diverse labor situations. Conflict diversity-understanding how different groups exist in a hierarchy of inequality in terms of power, privilege, and wealth. When studying diversity the entire group as a whole should be considered and not just on personal levels. Status- such as a teacher and student. Master status- status the dominates others- class, race, gender, sexualorientaion, and disability, Dominant group- social group that controls in a society. Subordinate group-social group that lacks controls in a society. Us dominant groups are rich, white, male, heteosexual and no diability.
