Document Summary

Going to the maker hub taught me a significant amount about using it to help teach, as well as a maker mindset. As a teacher, one thing i want to do that i observed during our activity was giving the students opportunities to explore and do a task on their own with very vague guidelines. It allows the teacher to not only see their creativity and personality, but possibly any issues going on in a student"s life. I also want to not only accept but encourage mistakes. Standardized testing has done the opposite of this and turned many young students in to perfectionists (vaughn 2). As the article suggests, i want to develop and possibly alter student"s relationship with learning by promoting behaviors, mindsets, and practices that counteract the effects of standardized testing. One mindset that majorly does this is the maker mindset. The maker mindset is a theory of learning through creating a sharing.
