Intro to debates - the basics: a topic, provide problem area for debate focus, predictable research areas, opposing viewpoints, arguments, a beginning and an end, first affirmative constructive (1ac, cross-examinations, rebuttals. 2 minute rebuttals: a method of evaluation. Distracts - provides escapism, takes you out of your element. Changes me - perspective wise, due to change in attitude. Connects back to claim -> the why or the reasoning. Level of disputes: if there isn"t a difference of opinion, there is no dispute. Changes based on the level of difference in opinion: the more you disagree the higher level of dispute. What is accepted and what is not the level of extent i have to change your mind. Changes from person to person it is neither correct or wrong. Sometimes we have certain reasoning, somethings we don"t have evidence to make it connect. Rhetorical perspective: looks at the people, how come, and how it is delivered influences the logical perspective.
