The final will consist of 60 questions, 50 from the last quarter of the course, 10 from major points discussed earlier in the course. The latter will include major concepts/ideas that we have covered previously sociological perspectives, ethnocentristm, role conflict/strain, etc. You should do well on these 10 questions by perusing your notes, not rereading the text. Be sure to read the relevant articles posted on ramct. Functionalist: roles are part of tradition, need to be fulfilled for functioning of society, useful in past, still today. Conflict: has to do with power, sex roles = conflict of interest b/w men and women, it will change when women gain economic power. Feminist: increase equality, individuals develop all traits, eliminate gender stratification, ending violence towards women, promoting sexual freedom, liberal. Gender should not operate as a caste. Women should advance based on merit and efforts: socialist. Replace traditional family form with collective means of carrying out housework and child care.
