Pols terms appropriations committee: a legislative committee that has jurisdiction over all proposed bills that would affect revenue. A proposed law that is under consideration by the legislator/executive, but has not become a law yet. A group made up of elected officials from the same party, ex: all the republicans in state. Assembly work as the repub caucus committee: a group of members of a legislative chamber given authority over certain issue. Consists of members of both chambers of a bicameral legislature. Is convened to resolve differences between the versions of a bill passed by each chamber, so that ultimately both chambers pass identical bills. Expenditure (limits): the maximum amount that a certain candidate, campaign, party, or other entity may spend to influence election fifth column: A group within a population that secretly supports the populations enemy. 1964 case held that state electoral districts had to be roughly equal in population (w/in the state).
