Exaltation (collective effervescence) = a sense of renewed life/energy => taken outside self. Socialization = the process of internalising the norms and ideologies of society. Conditioning = learn what you are rewarded for and what you are punished for. Habitus = your tastes which you can apply naturally and spontaneously in different situations (doesn"t seem forced). These tastes tell you where you fit in to the class structure in relation to others and also signal to others where you fit in and how they should interact with you. Collective consciousness = what is culturally shared across a society or group. Norm = moral rules, standards for behavior in a society or group.
