Austerity - sternness or severity of manner or attitude,often means early (forced) retirement for those boomers . Bad jobs- alienating, authoritarian, unsafe, precarious, are very stressful and increase of health problems where have high demands but little control over how to meet demands, comes from structural changes. Conservatism- focus on protecting privilege and social order. Cyclical changes- normal fluctuations in the business cycle, eg. cycles of growth and recession. Discouraged workers- workers who have given up searching for work.
