Facility based long term care is not a fully insured health service in any province or territory. Each jurisdiction is responsible for providing long-term care, each province has its own system for funding long term care. There"s a lot of variability across provinces in there terms that are used to describe different levels of care: ex. Long term care is continuing care in alberta. Allows ppl to live in their own homes or community. Services are used by ppl of all ages: ex. Children with special needs, ppl with mental and physical disabilities, chronic illnesses: ppl prefer receiving care at home, home care is cost effective. Nursing home medical institution that provides room, meals, rehab, med services, and supervision. Mood and anxiety disorders prevalent in nursing homes.
