Now institutions much like emergence of agriculture, and cities, 5000 years ago. But it certainly makes running an equitabl, happy and healthy society more difficult. How to deal with challenges? the reduce amount of ghg"s we are putting in the atmosphere to reduce this unpredictability (mitigation). Change institutions and infrastructure to deal with this greater unpredictability (adaptation). Activity changes the earth"s climate with intention of reducing unpredictability (amelioration geoengineering) Moving from technical to political frame: what do we do about climate change? . Responses: citizen of poor country like bangladesh. We didn"t cause acc, people in rich countries did. Person believing in ability to adapt: there have been always problems, that"s what leads to innovation. One note: climate policy moves are moving quickly, but take reference to kyoto as meaning any large climate treaties negotiated .
