Blind obedience to authority: when you accept what somebody says without questioning it at all because in some way they look like they have credentials. Milgram experiment: doing something because you are told to do it. Participants in the study have been lied to and the participants don(cid:495)t find that out at authority told them to the end. Definitions: very open minded: welcomes opportunities to think about things in different ways, even if the new way provides a less comfortable or convenient perspective. Principles of argumentation: basic rules of behaviour that an intellectually mature person would be expected to follow when constructing and assessing arguments for use in a rational discussion of disputed issues. Refer to session 2 reading for the principles of argumentation. You can"t say: since no one is able to prove that ghosts don(cid:495)t exist then they: whoever starts the argument must give evidence for that argument must exist.
