Document Summary

Everything has its certain nature and god is the origin of that. The law as it applies to humans is that being rational beings, we have free will and reason, thus, we self-govern ourselves. We also have a share in providence, and this puts constraints on our freedom because the law of nature is equivalent to the law of human conduct, which is ultimately established by god. Therefore the scripture and one"s own knowledge of good and evil will lead to universal happiness. Human law regulates something that is morally neutral, it essentially has nothing to do with divine or natural law, and therefore one must follow the law with no hesitation. When it comes to what is right or wrong, humans know what should be done but we are still fallible, and therefore need divine law, which exercises the concept of moderation, which is god"s law with no ambiguity.
