Case studies play a very important role in this course. Every week, students are expected to prepare and actively contribute to the discussion of a marketing case. Marketing cases give students an opportunity to apply theory and place themselves in an active managerial decision-making situation. Cases are often lengthy and complex, but they closely mirror the essential elements of actual decision situations you will face in the real world . Through cases you will develop the skills to come to grips with complex marketing problems and situations. Adequately preparing for case discussion requires more than simply reading the case. You should complete a comprehensive analysis and arrive at a personal decision as to what strategy should be adopted. I have prepared a list of questions that we will cover during the discussion of each case (you will find this list in appendix 1 of this document). Students are expected to attend class ready to answer these questions.
