The most obvious impact has been operational such as automating routine activities, alleviating administrative burdens, reducing costs and improving productivity internal to the hr function itself. Reactive change: change that occurs after external forces have already affected performance. For example steve jobs stepped in and saved apple amid crisis. Proactive change: change initiated to take advantage of targeted opportunities. Change initiated by managers to take advantage of target take opportunities especially in fast-changing industries in which followers are not successful. Human capital: describes economic value of employees knowledge skills and capabilities.
