Locally
How Can You Develop and Sustain Positive
Change?
There are many ways in which you as an individual can
develop and sustain positive change in your community.
Oftentimes, it starts with an idea. Some of these ideas
are big. Some are small. Some are just starting. The
point is that in order for change to occur, you have to
start somewhere.
For example, Waterloo Region Food System is a local
group that helps advocate to remove barriers and bring
more temporary farmers' markets and community
gardens to Cambridge, Kitchener, and Waterloo. This
group consists of representatives in the community who
share the goal of a healthier food system in Waterloo
Region, including local farmers; emergency food
providers; food processing, distributing, and retail
businesspeople; health professionals; and more.
How Do You Get Engaged and Start the Change
Process?
1. You can start small.
Here are a list of things that you can do today for your
community to develop and sustain positive change.
Organize a food drive in your workplace or
neighborhood.
