Quantitative research: a method of data collection that focuses on assigning numerical values to social science research questions. This research design is more interested in answering questions of how often and how much. The data collected can be numbers, percentages, or statistics. Qualitative research: a method of research that is typically concerned with the collection of data that excludes numbers. It can include personal accounts, feelings, observations, images such as photos and drawings, and personal beliefs. Allows to get at what, why and how people act and think in certain ways. The philosophy of how we come to know: what we can be said to know. Its reliability, and what constitutes justification for holding a belief and thereby deeming that belief to be knowledge.
