Weakening ties that bond people together to conventional society leads to higher / more likelihood to criminality. Four social bonds (ciba: commitment, investment you make to conformist society (time, energy, money) Involvement: activities distract from criminal behaviors, beliefs, bought into conformist beliefs of society (morals of society, religion, attachment, bond to conformist others-> don"t want to disappoint them.
