Suggests the most important thing a country can do is to acquire and exercise power. So from a realist perspective the us causing immoral actions is in justification for our survival. They believe that there are times when it is good to go to war and also times where there are not. (i. e. invasion of iraq). The parsimonious theory explains things in a simple way; the public does not need to know the details of international relations because they do not know foreign policy. Alternative (critical) perspectives, historical materialism and critical approaches. Different theories give us a profound understanding of international relations as it is what shapes politics. So we need to know what each theoretical perspective is and where it stands in politics. International relations is a separate field of study; in relation to other countries all is fair in love and war, morals are almost non existent.
