Week 2: the cornerstone; ancient greece and the rise of body ethic. Technological device developed in order to throw a spear with great skill: allowed for more range and concentrated power when using it as opposed to throwing a spear without it. Players: could not use their hands to project the missile through the ring, wore hard leather that could withstand the contact that was apparent in this sport. Kwakiutl: modern remnants found in bc: group of people who lived near the ocean in a well constructed domicile with boats, fixated with potlach , used as a gambling exercise/game of chance including gift giving. If giving gift, expecting to get gift better than the one you gave: group of people who lived in desert-like australia, had little agriculture because lived in desert.
