Essentially two circulatory systems- pulmonary circulation and systemic circulation. Pulmonary includes blood vessels that carry blood to and from lungs. Systemic all the blood vessels that carry blood to and from the rest of the body. Pulmonary circulation and lungs provide exchange of gases between atmosphere and blood. Contraction of right ventricle ejects venous blood into pulmonary artery. In pulmonary capillaries, blood picks up oxygen from the air and removes some of the carbon dioxide.
