Henry grey 1st anatomist, wrote grey"s anatomy 1858 (#1 textbook to use) He was a surgeon and medical doctor, he had an illustrator to document the human body. Gross anatomy studying organs we can see with the naked eye. 4 tissues that make up the human body. Regional anatomy: this term comes from dissection, using each region/ certain area of the body and identifying all of the structures that compose that particular area. Dissection is removing areas of the structures and identifying each part. (the use of the cadaver causes mistakes because you cannot go back once you cut open a structure). Systemic approach: this is where you study the different individual systems of the body (eg. skeletal system, then cardiovascular system and so forth) There are 11 systems in the body, we will study 5/11 systems in this class.
