In residential, most of the energy is going into heating and lighting. Not much change can be accomplished in the residential sector. Industrial and transportation sector use most: reduction can be accomplished through the transportation. Then a quarter each to natural gas and hydroelectric. Coal is only about 10% and being reduced. Not all we create/mine goes into our usage of energy. Uranium is often exported could use this because it is quite green. Hydro is renewable but it is not a large portion of energy: only exported once it has already been turned into electric power. 17% renewables: mostly biomass heat, then hydropower. Renewable energy: supplies of energy that will not be depleted by our use i. e. sunlight, geothermal energy, wind. Developed nations consume more energy than developing nations. Industrialized nations: use energy for transportations and industry. Developing nations: use energy for subsistence activities, agriculture, food preparation, home heating or animal energy instead of fossil fuels.
