Gustav fechner coined the term psychophysics, which is the study of the relationship between the physical world and the mental representation of that world. Brain localization is the idea that certain parts of the brain control specific mental abilities and personality characteristics. Phrenology: the idea that the (cid:271)(cid:396)ai(cid:374) (cid:272)o(cid:374)sisted of (cid:1006)7 (cid:858)o(cid:396)ga(cid:374)s(cid:859) which corresponded to mental traits and dispositions that could be detected by examining the surface of the skull.
