Social phenomena how people think and behave social groups and how they form, interact and relate to each other, adapt to societal change. Social regularities focus on the patterns, or what tends to be the patterns. Science goal: address topic of study with conscious and rigorous study, and makes claims with logic. See things of what you want to see, so it fits the pattern. So what is science: theory, not philosophy or belief, based in social regularities, about aggregates, not individuals, spoken in a language of variables. Seek to identify a few key causal factors that influence a class of events. Example: study a list of all the reasons why people choose utsc instead of st. george. Seeks an exhaustive explanation of all causes of event x.
