Document Summary

Learning -is the process by which behaviours or knowledge changes as a result of experience. Classical conditioning- learning tht occurs when a neutral stimulus elicits a response that was originally caused by another stimulus. Unconditioned stimulus- it elicits a reflexive response w/o learning. Unconditioned response- a reflexive unlearned reaction to a unconditioned stimulus. Conditioned stimulus- a once neutral stimulus tht later elicits a conditioned response b/c it has a history of being paired w. unconditioned stimulus. Conditioned response- is the learned response tht occurs to the conditioned stimulus. Acquisition- is the initial phase in learning in which a response is established. Extinction- is the loss or weakening of a conditioned response when a conditioned stimulus and unconditioned stimulus no longer occur together. Eg. tone in pavlov"s dogs happens often: no food= less salvation. Spontaneous recovery- the reoccurrence of a previously extinguished conditioned response, typically after some time has passed since extinction. So classically conditioned responses can change after acquired.
