What is person-centered therapy: person-centered therapy is used to address self-esteem issues, mainly, this therapy tries to answer the question: what are the reasons people experience low self-esteem? . In contrast, to the psychoanalytic approach where freud proposes that the therapist has all the answers, and must propose them to the client: the client can improve without being taught anything specific from their therapist. What are the goals of person-centered therapy: main goal = increase congruence; increase the consistency between one"s self-concept.
