Magic, science, and religion: a critical review of some of the relevant theoretical stances. Liminality: the quality of ambiguity that occurs in the middle stage of rituals, when participants no longer hold their pre-ritual status but have not yet begun the transition to the status they will hold when the ritual is complete. During a festival"s liminal stage participants stand at the threshold between their previous way of structuring identity, time, or community, and a new way, which the ritual establishes. Cosmology: study of the cosmos; how one views the world. Mythology: study of how things are, not how they came to be. Axiology: your value system, where one divines their ethical thoughts. Peoples of the book: (abrahamic faiths) christians, jews, and muslims as a group because of their vast similarities. Emic: the speaker; subjective voice what i/my religion says is to be done. Etic: observers voice; impartial observation & inquiry into the practices of others.
