Can we use our diagnosic labels to guide treatment rather than to sigmaize people. Paterns of thoughts, feelings, or acions that are deviant, distressful, and dysfuncional. Disorder refers to a state of mental/behavioral ill health. Paterns refers to inding a collecion of symptoms that tend to go together, and not just seeing a single symptom. Fore there to be distress and dysfuncion, symptoms must be suiciently severe to interfere with one"s daily life and well being. To deviate, in general, means to vary from what typically would happen. In psychology, a behavior or mental state is considered deviant by a culture when it is diferent from what would be expected in that culture.
