A defense of abortion by judith jarvis thomson. Thomson"s argument starts with granting for the sake of argument that the fetus is a human being. Thomson draws attention to the fact that the claim that the fetus is human being due to continuity of life process is flawed: it commits a slippery slope fallacy. Just as acorns cannot be claimed to be oak trees so a fetus, at very early stages cannot be claimed to be a human being. Yet, she grants the humanness of the fetus in order to argue against anti- abortion position by showing certain major difficulties in this position.
