Part of applied ethics: applies general ethical theories, applies principles and rules, problems of therapeutic practice, health care issues etc, the beginning of bioethics dates back to the 5th century bc with the. Hippocratic oath which is the first code of ethics for health care professionals: bioethics and the law, a close relationship. Can actually change the law based on ethical analysis (morgantalers case doctor that legalized abortion). Not black or white: these people share a non-congnitivist meta-ethical position, also known as ethical non-congnitivism. At the bottom of reasoning there is a feeling. Three types of people: 1) ethical non-cognitivism argues that no matter how much logic or reasoning (based on knowledge) you use, you can never settle a disagreement on what is right. In other words we are right because it feels right. Can not base a policy on a feeling.
