Document Summary

1st atmosphere is unique = provides necessary crucial range of gases for the inhabitants of earth. Air also helps regulate earths temperature and transports water in the hydrological cycle. But, atmostphere is always changing (just like ecosystems) Caused by: burning fossil fuels, increased carbon dioxide in atmosphere increase of clearing and burning forest in tropical countries. More carbon dioxide removed through photosynthesis and diffusion in oceans. Increase is greater then can be done in these 2 methods because there is too much: climate change-greenhouse gases, stratospheric ozone depletion, air quality, acid precipitation. Global warming, greenhouse effect =suns heat is trapped. Global climate change because weather can be diferent and colder in some areas. Greenhouse gases are increases but there was a drop in 2008 due to the recession= less manufacturing. Kyoto target and copenhaagen target- we are still not meeting these targets.
