Predominant use for the treatment of asthma or other pulmonary disorders. Smaller droplets inhaled further into the respiratory system. Diminish activation of inflammatory cells and increase the production of anti- inflammatory mediators. Coughing: sudden explosion of air from the lungs, through mouth. Productive cough brings up fluid or mucus from lungs. Nonopioids: dextromethorphan; reduce the activity of peripheral cough receptors and increase the threshold of the central cough center.
