Health inequities significantly impact those living in poverty. The condition people live in directly affects the quality of their health; lower the socioeconomic status, worse the health. Canada asks the reality of poverty, social exclusion and discrimination, the erosion of employment quality, its adverse mental health outcomes, and youth suicides. Social determinants of health are the living conditions that shape the health of canadians. Health is shaped by how income and wealth is distributed, employed or not, and if so, the working conditions experienced. Health is also determined by the health and social services received, ability to obtain quality education, food and housing, etc. Living conditions are imposed on people by the quality of the communities, housing situations, work settings, health and social service agencies, and educational institutions. Health of children are also determined by social determinants of health they experience; asthma, and injuries, whether they fall behind in school.
