Mary ainsworth to investigate attachment as well as the three attachment styles she proposed to classify infants. Attachment is the emotional bond between infants and their caregivers. Babies do not show preference right away and can form many attachments (with mother, father, etc. ) Until six months of age, babies display no fear to strangers but once attachment has been formed they experience separation anxiety.
