What have we discussed so far?statistically speaking: averages, variability, median measures, measurement scales (i. e. , likert scale) Significant differences (or lack thereof: dependent variables (what we measure) Parameters: numbers that characterize the population, greek symbols. Sample: relatively small subset of a population that is intended to represent that population. Individuals that make up the sample are randomly selected from the population. (theory) Problems: may not produce a representative sample. In reality, difficult to randomly select people to study.
