[BIOL 1090] - Final Exam Guide - Comprehensive Notes fot the exam (32 pages long!)

I'm looking for a way to learn taxonomy of animals for my bio class. Our lecture is a non-animated powerpoint and just reading isn't enough to help me actually learn the material. My textbook is really good and I take notes to combine with the lectures my professor created but I need something more interactive. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Beginning with the two opposing viewpoints on the topic of the moral permissibility of abortion explained in the text, complete and submit a short (750- to 1000-word) reflective research project in which you clearly state and defend a thesis on the topic. Your essay should make good use of the two articles from the text as well as two (2) of the assigned articles in the Abortion Review source linked in this module. The position you defend should be informed by a particular moral principle (moral principles were introduced in Module 1) and should make meaningful reference to the chapters from the textbook and the supplemental articles. You may also use additional academic resources. Be sure to cite all outside sources (including textbook readings, supplemental articles, and any additional research) used in developing your argument, using APA format. Your essay will be evaluated on your selection, interpretation, and application of the relevant moral principle (as well as the texts and articles that we have studied in this module) to support your argument. Evaluation of your word choice, spelling, and punctuation, as well as the organization of your essay, are included in the grade determination. Before you begin, please refer to the Reflection Essay rubric for comprehensive grading criteria. Finally, remember that while the empirical data and research are certainly relevant and important in this area, the thesis that you defend and the argument you submit are not empirical; you are developing and defending a normative argument about what is the morally correct position in this case. To complete the scenario section of the final, choose a scenario and paste it where indicated below. You may delete the other scenarios from the body of the exam. Answer the questions regarding the study you designed, giving the answers following each of the questions. If one of the questions isn’t applicable to your study, respond N/A after the question. Any additional information about the study you’ve designed can be added at the end of the required questions and will likely generate some extra points.

Design an epidemiological study for only ONE of the 6 scenarios below and provide at minimum the following information about your study:

Scenario 1: A new vaccine (NoBola) has been developed to prevent Ebola. Design a study that will indicate whether or not NoBola is associated with a reduction in Ebola cases in parts of the world where Ebola is endemic.

Please answer the above question

1• Describe exclusion criteria (e.g. in a prospective cohort study, a person who tests positive for illness at or near baseline must be excluded)

2• Describe how you will collect data for your study (survey, medical records, laboratory tests, etc.)

3• Divide subjects as appropriate for your study design (i.e. exposed/unexposed, case/control)

4• Describe outcome measure for study, how it’s calculated, and how it’s to be interpreted (you don’t need to actually do calculations, but provide the equations and give an example of how they’re interpreted): For example: RR=a/(a+b) interpreted as the risk of lung cancer in smokers is X times greater (or less) than it is in non-smokers

5• Give justification for your study design (tell why you chose that particular study design, why it is appropriate, and what you hoped to learn from doing the study)

6• Brief discussion of study strengths and weaknesses including a discussion of causal hypotheses and biases as they relate to your study design
