AGR 2320 Study Guide - Final Guide: Silage, Liquid Manure, Cornplanter
Document Summary
Ryan harrop, laura nanne, ean neoh, viraj patel, meghan taylor. During the fall of 2012 the soil and agro-ecosystem of harrcroft acres was studied and tested to formulate an appropriate management plan. Three separate soils where individually retrieved from its respective pits from various locations throughout the site. The soil samples could then be identified to give an indication as to how the soil was formed, what lays in the subsurface and its benefits and impacts on crop production. To further classify soil profiles the samples were tested to determine texture, structure, and density. Soil samples revealed a lack in manganese in the soil. Which we assessed could be fixed by spraying manganese on the leaves of crops during the growing season, for improved yields and overall soil health.
