How nk cells works does not kill bacteria or viruses directly, rather it kills the host cells they have infected. Perforin - use to enter the cell as it disrupts the plasma membrane. Granzymes/proteases - cause the target cell to die. The immunological functions of the complement system creating holes in pathogen by creating an inflow of extracellular fluid (cytolysis) sequential cleavage of inactive forms of various complement proteins. Autoimmunity - breakage of immune tolerance to self-antigens. T cell bypass: requirement of t cells to activate b cells for antibodies is bypassed.
