Observe, hypothesize how it works, predict, test, modify, hypothesize, re-test. Principle of scientific evidence: converging evidence no one study ever proves anything. Look for evidence from multiple studies with different methods. Parsimony make your hypothesis as simple as possible. Falsifiability make sure u can test ur hypothesis. Data must be able to either support or contradict ur hypothesis. Correlation vs. causation - an association between two things does not imply a cause and effect relationship. Replicability findings must be capable of being duplicated following the same methodology. Extraordinary claims a claim that contradicts what we already know must have a lot of evidence to back it up. Level of analysis of different sciences is what makes them different. Descartes view physical body and mind belong to 2 different realms. But the mental mind is able to influence the physical body through the brain.
