Advantages -fewer ideal items (iventory) balance, rapid ow. Jit = big jit = philosophy of waste reduction be it inventory or resources (workers,equipment, or oor space) and contuse improvement on a sense identical to lean production. Lean production - jit in a broad sense is a philosophy of wate reduction and counties improvement. Ow material, information, or work through steps of production process ex. even workload amongst workstations. Elimination of disruptions - climate poor quality, equipment breakdown, schedule changes, late deliveries or parts/componets no variation. System flexibility- robust enough to handle mix products and changes in demand level ex. reduction of machine setup and lead time. Elimination of waste- unproductive resources to free up resources and enhance production.
