• Today's Human Nature:
• In today's world, humans are in a very relaxed cycle they eat, they watch television, they
sleep
• Most people do not realize the health risks they are taking everyday when they do their
daily tasks
• Humans are more reliant on machines to do simple activities
• Such as changing the channel or travelling
• Nowadays humans live a convenient and relaxed life ex: change channel using remote
instead of having to get up and go up to the TV to change the channel as there were no
remotes in the past
• Fresh food had to be cooked, it couldn't be refrigerated or frozen but on the other hand
people were healthier previously as compared to humans nowadays -there's heart strokes
due to fatty foods and other diseases due to the food we eat
• Technology Makes Life Easier:
• Technology does make activities uncomplicated and genuinely makes life easier. But
people are at great risk to their health with the advancements in technology
• The air in cities is so full of smoke - This leads to poor air quality
• Technology also makes activities uncomplicated hence makes life easier for us ex: we can
fly from city to city instead of having to rely on animal transport. E-mails instead or letters
• Not only do humans create entertainment and ease of life but they also make pollutants
and contaminants - creating ease of life creates a lot of pollution
• Life due to technology is sedentary - kids don't play outside anymore, obesity is rising
• Pesticides: a pest is an organism (insect, mice that cause damage) cide: kill so Pest and
Cide: so killing the pest so if that pest is insect we call it insecticide. For mouse/mice
(rodents) we call it rodenticide. For bacteria bactericide. For fungus fungicide - cide
means killing - so killing these organisms/bacteria's
• In the video: pesticides were used to ensure that crops are healthy and not damaged.
These pesticides were used to ensure that rodents, insects, bacteria don't damage the
crops and we have healthy crops but these pesticides are chemicals and they are
accumulated in the tissue of the crops and if they are consumed by humans then after
years a disease could emerge ex. Cancer in a person but if the pesticides weren't used and
the whole world got organic food then there wouldn't be enough crops and there
wouldn’t be enough food - but if this it is controlled then we may have less influence of
technology on our health and the env
• The Air We Breathe And The Water We Drink:
• Not only have individuals fabricated new ways of entertainment, but have built factories
which pollute the air they breathe and water they drink

• The agricultural system brought on a revolution
• The need for employees brought mechanical robots into society
• The agriculture system was revolutionized because of the use of these pesticides and
technology, nowadays they change the form and shape of env in order to make it easier to
deliver for ex: watermelons nowadays doesn't have seed, this is because we've made
some changes to it's growth using technology.
• Advancements In Technology
• Advancements in technology also brought the finer things in life, making it necessary for
man to accelerate his economic growth
• The development of many modern machines led to air pollution
• The needs for transportation brought vehicles into the market
• Advancements in technology has also brought finer things in life and accelerated
economic growth so there's more wealth and energy and technology.
• Speed
• Technology was has been used to speed up production and manufacturing of goods and
services in order to provide a better lifestyle but there is also less happiness, humility
(people work constantly to make more money). Trade and commerce flourish at faster
rate due to technology of space and advancements that had brought globalization - so we
have treatment facilities, wastewater treatment, through these we change the natural
hydrological cycle in order to change the quality of water - this is because we need more
water. We need to stop the pollution of water resources because wastewater volume is
larger than what it used to be. Initially/naturally wastewater would go into rivers etc and
they would self purify the wastewater - the solution to pollution is dilution - this means
that pollution was taking care of itself but nowadays in order to control wastewater govts
ban industries from pouring their waste into waterbodies as this waste would destroy the
water bodies. On the other hand, the water from rivers and lakes needs to be treated to
ensure that it is drinkable and safe to use. These technologies are essential because we
have a growing population that needs water
• To provide better transport and delivering as well as makes the methods of
communication not only faster but also far reaching
• Battles over land brought on the need for sophisticated weapons
• Humans can cope with their physical environment
• Trade and Commerce:
• Trade and Commerce flourished at faster rates due to technological advancements and
brought about globalization
• As trade and commerce grew the more they increased the impact of technology on
natural environment: air, water, soil etc. it ends up degrading and destroying the
environment
• People are always wanting a better lifestyle
• Therefore there is always something new arising
