Geographers have a keen sense of the value of location, an appreciation of landscapes, and awareness of the environmental impacts of changing land uses. Location impacts both land values and land use. This course introduces spatial concepts and locational processes, examining their relevance for changing retail, office, industrial and residential land uses. These processes will be examined, together with the practical implications of their land-use outcomes. The geographical perspective can be effectively applied to many real-world problems.
